It turns out dressing like a duchess doesn’t have to cost a fortune – if Kate Middleton’s latest look is anything to go by, at least.
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out for an appearance in Bradford today wearing a chic green military-style khaki coat from one of her favourite design houses, Alexander McQueen. But after braving the cold and making her way inside, she removed it to revealed a dress from none other than high street hero Zara.
Kate and husband Prince William were on a walkabout in West Yorkshire, where they greeted crowds at Centenary Square, and visited a number of community projects, even finding time to head to the flagship store of restaurant chain MyLahore to mix up and sample their own kulfi milkshakes.
Kate chose a checked Zara tie-necked dress for the occasion which originally retailed for £89.99, but had since been reduced to just £15.99 in the sale. Predictably, it’s already totally out of stock on the Zara website, but we’re crossing our fingers that we might find one on a rail in store.
The Zara dress appeared to have been new (or least, not worn for an apperance before) but Kate recycled her accessories, choosing the £6 Zeen ceramic drop earrings she first debuted just before the beginning of the couple’s royal tour of Pakistan, and has been spotted in multiple times since.
Completing her look with a pair of black block heels by Gianvito Rossi and a classic Aspinal of London midi ‘Mayfair bag’, Kate schooled us all on combining the perfect mix of high-end and high street finds.

The visit to Bradford marked William and Kate’s first public engagement together since they both visited a a charity event back in November for their volunteer text support service Shout.
